The Great Drawing Challenge Final
Denefield Interhouse Competition - Drawing Challenge came to a close this week and Year 7 student Enzo, won the competition.
Four finalists - Isabel , Emma, Izzy and Enzo, were chosen by tutors and had to draw a live portrait of Dr Mills, Head of Norcot House, using charcoal. They had just 20 minutes to complete the challenge, and they all did a fantastic job.
All four students received praise from the house teams for their impressive work. Enzo’s drawing earned him the top spot, securing the win for both himself and his house, Kentwood. Congratulations, Enzo!
Sixth Form visit to Newbury College - Destinations Expo
This week, Year 13 students visited Newbury College Destinations Expo. The students had the chance to meet and chat with a number of employers and universities - finding out about different courses and career paths available to them. Students also got involved in fun activities and demos related to each sector.
Restart a Heart
Sixth Form students were visited by the Community First Responder NHS Foundation Trust who ran a Restart a Heart workshop. Students learnt how to work as a team and perform CPR safely.
Success for life
During a Year 7 Success for Life lesson, students worked on an activity that focused on resilience. Using spaghetti and blue tack, they were challenged to build towers. The task helped them understand how important resilience is, as they learnt to keep trying even when their towers didn’t go as planned. It was great to see how much effort and teamwork they put into the challenge.
